This cuvée tells us a story of a precious stone or gem from our vineyard terroir.

Produced on our most prestigious flint hillside, Gemme de Feu takes its name from this soil of the Cretaceous period characterized by notes of flint that are released when striking two flint stones against each other… and also of its rare production during the best vintages (2009, 2012, 2017, 2022). Our chiseled Silex is a highly structured wine, of crystalline purity with a beautiful consistency and a remarkable ability to age for long periods

Grapes harvested at perfect maturity on September 14th. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

Color: Beautiful straw yellow color with white gold highlights, shiny

Nose: Elegant and complex aromas of flint, spices, with citrus notes

Taste: fine acidity, well-balanced with great character. The taste aligns beautifully with the aromas (spices, gunflint) on the nose. Consistency and harmony on the palate, nice length.

Wine Making

Low yields (32hl/ha). Gentle pressing, static settling, alcoholic fermentation at low temperature. No malolactic fermentation. 7 months of aging on fine lees in stainless steel tanks

Made for fine dining, young vintages of this limited edition wine pairs perfectly shellfish and crustaceans for (lobster, scallops with curry sauce and compote of apples, monkfish with spices and wild garlic); enjoy older vintages with Bresse poularde, homemade foie gras terrine, truffle risotto.
